Assistant Professor, Caltech, 1987-90; Associate Professor, 1990-97; Professor, 1997-; Director, Center for Data Driven Discovery, 2014-; Founding President, International Astroinformatics Association, 2019-present.  Senior Data Science Advisor, W. M. Keck Foundation, 2020-present.  Co-Founder and Chief Virtual Reality Officer, Virtualitics, Inc., 2015-present.

Prof. Djorgovski was one of the founders of the Virtual Observatory framework, which is now the global data grid of astronomy.  He was the Director of the Meta-Institute for Computational Astrophysics (MICA), the first professional scientific organization based in Virtual Worlds, 2008-2012.  See: “The MICA Experiment: Astrophysics in Virtual Worlds“.  The asteroid 24421 Djorgovski is named in his honor.

Prof. Djorgovski was a valued Science Circle Board member between 2014 – 2016.
